The Song of the Spear comes fron Njall's Saga by Poetic Edda. It uses weavining and the loom as an allegory for battle. It is also the story of the Valkyries as the weave the life of the men in battle. As a spinner, weaver, historian, and textile historian, this is something that resonates with me. I have been trying to find a way to honor this poem for over a decade. This is not for everyone - battle is bloody and the descriptions a fairly graphic.
Each line from the poem goes down the warp of the loom so you have to turn it to read it.
I am printing this onto12 x 16 and 11 x 14 acid-free satin stock. It will be sent in 13x18 rigid mailer.
